Mercury Square Neptune Transit
Mercury is a planet that represents all forms of thinking and communication.
Neptune is representative of “the abstract” and imaginative faculties. In a square aspect, we are likely to see the less desirable side of Neptune– illusions, delusions, “muddied waters” and escapism.
When transit Mercury is square to our natal Neptune, we can be more prone to misunderstandings with other people. Either they misunderstand us, or we misunderstand them. Usually it is harmless and unintentional – but in some instances we can be dealing with bold-faced lies (and “little white” ones as well!)
Under the square, our thinking can be inspired and imaginative – but it can also be lazy, sloppy, and impractical. This is where confusion comes in. We’re not as capable of conveying our idealistic notions – either because we just don’t feel like it — or we just assume that those around us “get it”.
We can also get into situations with people who either don’t want to understand us and assume that we’re “full of it”…
…Or situations with people who want to “get one over” on us.
If we’re not careful and discerning, we are more likely to fall victim to various types of fraud under the Mercury Square Neptune transit.
So although there is an inclination to let things slide, we should try to be more aware and attentive of the way we communicate and the way those around us communicate with us while this transit is in effect.
On the other hand — we might not let things slide when we really should! Sometimes we can hurt our own feelings by misconstruing what is said to us. We can be a little bit too suspicious of others and build entire false narratives in our minds. So be aware of the tendency toward self-deception as well.
Fortunately, this is a fast-acting transit – and should only really affect us for a couple of days.
